Junius Acosta, 77, a resident of Stephensville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at his home.
He was a commercial fisherman who loved hunting. He was a dedicated Christian and family man who loved going to church.
Junius is survived by his three daughters, Barbara Businelle and her husband Gary of Patterson, and Jackie Brown and her husband Ronald, and Laura Riley and her husband Dewey, all of Stephensville; three brothers, Lenard Acosta and his wife Ella Mae, Jerry Acosta and his wife Dee Dee, and Wilson Acosta and his wife Fedora; three sisters, Aline Bertrand and her husband Jerome, Diane Soileau and her husband Harris, and Gertrude Prestenbach and her husband Pete; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella Marie Gaudet Acosta; his son, Rickey Acosta; his parents, William “Bill” Acosta and Aline Landry Acosta Richard; his brother, Dewit Lamb; his sister, Doris Acosta; one great-grandson, Sparrow Businelle; and one great-granddaughter, Shanda Businelle.
The family requests visitation be observed Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hargrave Funeral Home in Morgan City. Visitation will resume at Hargrave Funeral Home Monday, Sept. 26 from 8 a.m. until the time of funeral services at noon. Graveside services will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
