Julius David Gaudet Sr.

Julius David Gaudet Sr., 64, a resident of Bayou Vista and a native of Morgan City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, surrounded by his family at his residence.
Julius loved the outdoors and being on the water. He was an avid alligator and wild game hunter. Julius also enjoyed sport fishing. Julius was a very kind and giving man. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone. Julius was gifted with the ability to tell great stories, and he could talk for hours. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Julius is survived by his six children, Bridget Gaudet of Hattiesburg, Miss., Julius Gaudet Jr. of Conway, Ark., Joella Gaudet of Alexandria, Brandon Prejeant of Schriever, Valicia Prejeant of Gibson, and Deiadrie Prejeant of Houma; two brothers, Linwood and Gilday Gaudet; and one sister, Eva Mae Ohmer. Julius also is survived by eight grandchildren, Keefe Vest, James Vest, Daytona Gaudet, Keith Grose, Justin Prejeant, Seth Prejeant, Emily Prejeant and Kate Prejeant; and one great-grandson, James Vest.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents, Gilday Gaudet and Ella Mae Dupre Gaudet.
A visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church commencing at 10 a.m. A eulogy will be given by Scott Connelly and the readings for Mass will be read by Melanie Andrews and Sonya Collins. Julius will be laid to rest in St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Amelia.
Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
