Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson at 11:30 a.m. for Isaac T. Miller, 88, an Amite native and resident of Bayou Vista, who passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 12:20 p.m. at his home.
Burial will follow in Ibert’s Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Randy Plessala will officiate the services.
Mr. Isaac was a veteran of the United States Army, having served stateside during World War II. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Army and the East St. Mary Veteran’s Funeral Squad. He was a Journeyman/Inspector working on pipelines throughout the U.S. as well as overseas, and also was a member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798, Tulsa, Okla., for 55 years.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Rosa “Rosie” Sons Miller of Bayou Vista; three sons, Mike Miller and his wife Cindy of Baton Rouge, Brian Miller of Baton Rouge, and Steve Miller of Patterson; two daughters, Judy Stringer and her husband Jack of Pearland, Texas, and Janith Miller of Baton Rouge; one brother, Shelby Miller and his wife Dora Lee of Kentwood; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Wade Miller; and by his parents, Jessie T. Miller and Cassie Davis Miller.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Ibert’s Mortuary from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Donations may be made to the family to help alleviate medical and funeral expenses.
