A special festival deserves a special treat or two, and that’s what the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival board has in store this Labor Day holiday weekend. Live music from Houma-based Sheauxdown kicked off on the Petroleum Heritage Music Stage in downtown Lawrence Park on Thursday, a day earlier than in previous years. Fighter jets, gigantic search lights and, generally, an extra punch is in store for the 75th celebration, appropriately dubbed the Diamond Jubilee. |
