Housing authorities settling on director deal

MORGAN CITY, La. -- The Morgan City Housing Authority commissioners will consider amendments to their proposal for obtaining the services of Clarence Robinson Jr., to serve as an interim executive director during their meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Berwick Housing Authority commissioners met Tuesday and discussed proposals sent by Morgan City Housing Authority Chairman Vic Ho and Vice Chairman Jermone Guidry to allow Robinson, the Berwick executive director, to work in Morgan City until a permanent executive director can be hired.

Ho said he will recommend the board accept the proposals sent by Berwick.

He will not receive personal compensation for the time he spends in Morgan City, according to Ho.Among the details to be agreed between the two agencies is the amount of time that Robinson spends in Morgan City and the compensation Morgan City will give Berwick, according to Richard. He said the Berwick commissioners have limited the time Robinson will spend in Morgan City to 24 hours.

“You cannot work full time in two different places,” said Ho. “They are giving us as much time as they can.”
