Hornets Day is set

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Hornets have teamed up with Audubon Nature Institute to host Hornets Day at Audubon Zoo (6500 Magazine St. in Uptown) on Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. Doors open at 10 a.m.

The event will feature appearances by Hornets forwards Carl Landry and Al-Farouq Aminu, live music, performances by the Honeybees, Hornets Drum Line and Stingers as well as the Hornets Bookmobile presented by Shell, the Hornets Mathmobile presented by Chevron and interactive games and contests for the entire family.

The first 500 zoo visitors on Sunday will receive a pair of free tickets to an upcoming Hornets home game. Additionally, children who sign up for a paid membership to Jr. Hornets will receive either a pair of passes to Audubon Zoo or a pair of tickets to an upcoming Hornets game.

Also, Hornets season ticket holders were emailed a coupon to receive a discount at the gate on zoo admission of $3 off each regular adult ticket and $2 off regular children’s admission.
