HMS Tigers rally by Berwick Panthers
Drake Businelle hit a homer and Bo Barrilleaux drove in the winning run to help Hanson Memorial Tigers notch a pulsating 4-3 win over the Berwick Panthers in the season finale Monday at the Amar Lancon Field.
Businelle was 1 for 2 with a homer and two RBI along with one run to lead the Tigers.
Barrilleaux went 1 for 3 while driving in the game-winning run in the bottom half of the seventh inning.
Barrilleaux delivered Josh Sanchez with the game-winner run as the Tigers earned a 4-3 win over the Panthers.John
Guienze, Payton Kellebrew and Sanchez also hit safety in the game as the Tigers improved to 19-9 overall with the win. Guienze went 1 for 3 while Kellebrew was also 1 for 3 with Sanchez going 1 for 3 with the game-winning run. Bryce Ronsonet and Brandon Bonin also received free passes on the day.
Jacob Hebert notched the win in relief, allowing one earned run on no walks over one frame.
Cameron Stovall started and went three innings, allowing two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Kade James yielded one earned run on one hit over one frame. Payton Kellebrew also appeared in relief, working two innings, surrendering one run on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Hebert claimed the mound victory after hurling the seventh inning, giving up one run on three hits.
Nick Duthu took the loss in relief allowing two earned runs on two hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 3 and 2/3 innings. Tim Shelby started and worked three complete innings, yielding two runs (one earned) on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
Hanson struck for one run in the first, third, sixth and seventh innings while Berwick knotted the game at 3-3 with runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh frames. Hanson posted the 4-3 victory when Sanchez singled and later tagged home plate on Barrilleaux’s game-winning single.
Hanson Memorial (19-9) will now await the upcoming State Class A pairings.
