HMS baseball team attends MSU camp
On Monday, 14 members of the Hanson Memorial Tigers baseball team and three coaches traveled to Mississippi to attend the Mississippi State University Bulldogs Baseball camp.
“This is one of the best camps around with tremendous benefits,” Hanson Head Coach Ryan Stoute said. “This is a great camp to get our kids exposure on the college setting.”
According to Stoute, 16 teams from around the southeast have been invited to the prestigious baseball camp. Teams from Georgia, Mississippi, Florida and Louisiana will participate in the week-long camp.
Hanson will take part in the camp which features five games along with various seminars on hitting and fielding.
The Mississippi State University Bulldogs are currently making preparations for the 2013 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. Coaches, staff members and local high school coaches from Mississippi will conduct the five-day camp.
Stoute said it’s the kind of camp where there are daily team evaluations along withdaily activities that will keep you busy doing something worthwhile everyday, whether playing a game or receiving instructions as a team or individual on hitting or defense.
The MSU baseball camp will provide instructions Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. with team evaluations at 5:30 p.m.
