Administrators accept ALS Ice Bucket challenge

Berwick High School Principal Buffy Fegenbush, Berwick Junior High School Principal Tim Hymel and Assistant Principal Lane Larive all were nominated by the St. Mary Principals Association to partake in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in honor of former association member Tommy Bourgeois, who succumbed to the disease in January. All three completed the feat during halftime of Berwick High School’s scrimmage with Morgan City High Friday at Geisler Stadium in Berwick. At left, Fegenbush reacts after being doused by Berwick football player Tre Matthews, while Hymel, center, receives his ice bath from Berwick’s Jeremy Boudreaux, and at right, Larive braces to receive a dousing from Braden Billiot. The trio challenged all those who have completed the challenge to donate to ALS in memory of Bourgeois. A total of $2,274 in gate receipts from Friday’s scrimmage will be donated to Louisiana-Mississippi’s ALS chapter. (The Daily Review/Courtney Long)
