Central Catholic upsets South Terrebonne in Pink Game

Centra Catholic High School held its Pink Game Tuesday against South Terrebonne. Prior to the match, the Lady Eagles gathered for a check presentation to Debbie Acosta of Oncologics. The $1,200 donation is for the “fight against breast cancer.” On the court, the Lady Eagles, ranked No. 8 in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division V power rankings, upset South Terrebonne, ranked No. 4 in Division II. Berwick finished 4-0 Saturday at Morgan City’s annual Lady Tiger Classic.
The Lady Panthers defeated Carencro, Sulphur, Covenant Christian and New Iberia, without dropping a set.

CCHS falls again in latest 1A poll

Following a second consecutive loss, the Central Catholic Eagles again slipped in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll, this time three spots to No. 8.

Morgan City overcame Mother Nature Friday night and the North Central Hurricanes, battling the rain, lightning and the St. Landry Parish-based team for a 44-16 win.

Berwick holds off Varnado for a 3-0 start to season

Berwick remained undefeated Friday, improving to 3-0 this season with a 30-23 victory against Varnado in Berwick.
But it certainly didn’t come without some tense moments late.
