Eagles use turnovers to upset Country Day

Central Catholic High School upset No. 7 Metairie Park Country Day Friday with a 34-21 homecoming victory. While the Cajuns were ranked in the latest Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 1A poll and Central Catholic wasn’t, the Eagles held the upper hand in the latest Louisiana High School Athletic Association Division IV (Class 1A select) power rankings, which determine playoff seedings. CCHS falls to HLB

The Central Catholic Lady Eagles dropped their regular season finale to H.L. Bourgeois in Gray Wednesday 3-0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-9). The Lady Eagles, who automatically qualified for the playoffs as the District 6-V champion, now will await their playoff seeding, which will be announced Monday.
