Patterson overcame McDonogh 35’s size for a 49-43 win in opening round play at St. Martinville’s tournament Thursday.
Patterson trailed 10-7 after the first quarter but responded with a 15-7 scoring advantage in the second quarter for a 22-17 halftime lead.
