Centerville Bulldogs notch 47-45 victory

CENTERVILLE _ Jumani Washington and Rodney Harris combined for 35 points, leading the Centerville Bulldogs to a 47-45 win over Avoyelles Charter here Friday at the CHS Gym.
Centerville improves to 9-4 on the season. Avoyelles Charter is now 16-8 on the season.
CHS clung to a 13-12 lead in the opening quarter before Avoyelles Public Charter gained a 24-20 advantage at the half. Avoyelles Public Charter held a 35-31 lead at the end of three quarters before the Centerville Bulldogs went on a 16-10 run in the final stanza for the comeback 47-45 victory.
Avoyelles’ Tucker Dauzat led all scorers with a 24 point effort on one deuce, six treys and 2 of 7 free throws.
Centerville’s Washington led his team with 18 points on seven floor shots along with 4 of 7 free throws. Harris poured in 17 points, draining seven deuces and 3 of 4 charity shots.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were: Juwan Thomas, 5; Courtland Pogue, 4 and Zacchaeus Jackson, 3.
Centerville is at Maurepas on tonight to open district play.
