The Berwick High School softball teams picked up two wins Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep against Donaldsonville in District 9-3A play.
The Lady Panthers won 16-1 in the first contest and 15-0 in the second.
Berwick (6-8 overall, 2-0 in district) will return to action today when it hosts Assumption at 3:30 p.m. in a makeup game from earlier this season.
CCHS Landry throws

Megan Landry and the Central Catholic defense continued their dominating play as the Central Catholic pitcher threw another perfect game Tuesday in District 7-1A action at Vermilion Catholic and her defense remained error-free.
In the 9-0 victory, Landry pitched seven innings and fanned seven.
Offensively, Central Catholic pounded out 15 hits, including four doubles, two triples and a home run.
“I am very elated at the team effort that I am getting,” Central Catholic coach Joe Russo said. “Megan is doing her thing on the mound, and the defense is standing strong behind her. And when it comes time for us to bat, it’s awesome to know that all (nine) players are capable of being dangerous. The hard work and dedication is paying off, and we will continue to work hard to get better.”
Central Catholic, ranked No. 2 in the latest unofficial Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 1A power rankings, plated three runs in the third inning Tuesday, one each in the fifth and sixth and capped its offensive day with four runs in the seventh inning.
Bridgette Swan led the Lady Eagles with a 4-for-4 performance with a stolen base and two runs, while Gee Garrett finished 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run. Other top contributors included Brittany Longman, 2-for-4, a home run, an RBI and a run; Kimberly Russo, 2-for-5, a double, a triple, a stolen base and a run; Landry, 2-for-4, a double; Brooke Lipari, 1-for-3, a triple, three RBIs and a run; Hallie Autin, 1-for-4, a double and a run; and Kaitlyn Gros, two RBIs.
The Lady Eagles (10-2, 3-0) will return to action Thursday when it travels to face Hanson in a District 7-1A showdown with their west end rivals, who are ranked No. 8 in the latest LHSAA power rankings.
MCHS run-rules
South Terrebonne
Morgan City scored a combined 10 runs in the first three innings and limited South Terrebonne to two hits en route to a 10-0 run-rule win in five innings at South Terrebonne Tuesday.
In the District 7-4A victory, Morgan City scored three runs apiece in the first two innings and added four more in the third.
Brandi Ingram led the Lady Tigers with a 3-for-4 performance with three RBIs, a stolen base and three runs, while Aliya Green finished 2-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and a run. Other top contributors included Morgan Comeaux, 2-for-4, a double, two RBIs; Taylor Prince, 2-for-4, two runs and an RBI; Marilynn Bailey, 2-for-2, a double and two runs; and Hannah Falgout, 2-for-4.
Tyler Hebert pitched two innings for Morgan City and surrendered two hits and fanned six, while Reagan Barbier pitched three innings of no-hit ball and surrendered just one walk and hit a batter.
Morgan City (10-5, 2-0) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Vandebilt Catholic in a 4 p.m. district contest.
E.D. White run-rules
The Patterson Lumberjills fell to E.D. White 10-0 in six innings in District 9-3A action at E.D. White Tuesday.
Taylor Hall took the loss for Patterson, while Rachel Easley had the Lumberjills’ only hit.
Patterson (7-3, 0-1) will continue district play Thursday when it hosts rival Berwick in a 4 p.m. contest.
