The Patterson Lumberjills swept a District 9-3A doubleheader against Franklin Tuesday.
The Lumberjills won the contests 16-0 and 17-1.
Taylor Hall earned the win for Patterson in both contests.
No other individual stats were available.
Patterson (9-4 overall, 2-2 in district) will return to action Thursday when it travels to Morgan City for a 4 p.m. contest.
MCHS beats
The Morgan City Lady Tigers picked up an 8-7 win against Assumption in District 7-4A action on the road Tuesday.
Morgan City never trailed, taking a 3-1 lead after the first inning and extending it to as much as 7-1 by the fourth.
While Assumption rallied to close its deficit to 8-7 by the fifth inning, the Lady Mustangs could get no closer.
Morgan City pounded out 12 hits in the contest.
Brandi Ingram led the squad with a 3-for-4 performance in which she was a single shy of hitting for the cycle. She had a double, a triple and a home run as well as three RBIs and two runs.
Katelyn Alvarez also homered in the contest as she finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Other top contributors for Morgan City included Morgan Comeaux, 2-for-4, a double; Taylor Prince, 2-for-4, two runs; Dwanna LeBeau, 1-for-3, an RBI, a stolen base; and Tyler Hebert, 1-for-4, an RBI.
Hebert earned the win for the Lady Tigers. In seven innings, she surrendered eight runs — five earned — on nine hits with seven walks and six strikeouts.
Morgan City (11-7, 3-1 in district) will return to action Thursday when it hosts Patterson in a 5 p.m. contest.
CCHS run-rules
Ascension Episcopal
Central Catholic plated a combined eight runs in the fifth and sixth innings to run-rule Ascension Episcopal, 10-0, in six innings.
While Central Catholic plated single runs in the second and third innings for a 2-0 lead against Ascension Episcopal, the Lady Eagles plated five runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to end the game.
Megan Landry tossed a complete-game three-hitter in the win. In six innings, she surrendered three hits, one walk and fanned 12.
At the plate, Bridgette Swan finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, while Brittany Longman was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run. Other top contributors included Megan Landry, 1-for-3, a triple and two RBIs; Paige Thomas, 1-for-3, a triple, an RBI and a stolen base; Gee Garrett, 1-for-3, two RBIs and a run; Kaitlyn Gros, 1-for-3, an RBI and a run; and Jenna Teachman, an RBI.
Central Catholic (14-4 overall, 5-0 in district) will return to action today when it faces Berwick in a 4 p.m. contest.
Berwick falls to
E.D. White
The Berwick Lady Panthers fell at home Tuesday in District 9-3A play to E.D. White, 8-5.
No individual stats were available from the contest.
This past weekend, the Lady Panthers fell to Central Catholic, Captain Shreve and Buckeye in the Catholic High-New Iberia tournament.
The Lady Panthers fell 9-7 to Central Catholic, 11-3 to Captain Shreve and 10-0 to Buckeye.
On Monday the Lady Panthers fell to St. John of Plaquemine, 10-5.
Berwick (7-15 overall, 3-1 in district) will return to action today when it gets a rematch with Central Catholic in Bayou Vista at 4 p.m.
