High school bowling regionals begin today at Charlie's Lanes
Local high school bowling regional action will begin today and continue through Tuesday at Charlie’s Lanes in Morgan City.
Boys’ and girls’ teams from Central Catholic, Morgan City and Berwick all will participate.
Local boys’ action will begin today when Central Catholic, the No. 9 seed, takes on South Lafourche, the No. 8 seed, at 1:30 p.m.
The winner will play top-seeded Morgan City at 3:30 p.m.
Other boys’ action today includes No. 7 seed Ellender squaring off against No. 10 seed E.D. White at 1:30 p.m.
The winner of that contest will face No. 2 seed Vandebilt Catholic Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
In other boys’ action Tuesday, No. 3 seed South Terrebonne will face No. 6 seed Berwick at 1:30 p.m., while No. 4 seed Terrebonne and No. 5 seed H.L. Bourgeois will square off at 1:30 p.m.
The top four boys’ teams and the top bowlers competing in singles’ competition all will advance to Bi-Regionals at Creole Lanes in Houma April 1.
In girls’ action, Morgan City, the No. 8 seed, will face South Lafourche, the No. 9 seed at 1:30 p.m. today.
The winner will then play again at 3:30 p.m. today against top seed Berwick.
In other girls’ action today, No. 4 seed Ellender will face No. 5 seed South Terrebonne, No. 3 seed Vandebilt Catholic will face No. 6 seed Central Catholic and No. 2 seed H.L. Bourgeois will meet No. 7 seed Terrebonne, all at 3:30 p.m.
The top three teams as well as the two top girls’ in singles’ competition all will advance to Bi-Regionals at Creole Lanes in Houma on April 1.
