Head Start orientation Thursday
St. Mary Community Action Agency will hold a Head Start Program parent orientation for new and returning parents at 5 p.m. Thursday at Patterson Civic Center in Patterson for the Baby Bear, Cinderella, Yogi Bear, Winnie the Pooh and Tweety Bird head start centers located in Patterson, Berwick, Amelia and Morgan City, according to a news release from St. Mary Community Action Agency CEO Almetra J. Franklin.
The first day of school for St. Mary and Vermilion parishes Head Start Program will be Monday.
Parents are asked to bring their children in on the first day and buses will bring the children home. All children should arrive at the center by 8:30 a.m. but not before 8 a.m., the release stated. Buses will leave the centers at 2:15 p.m. Parents or a guardian must be home to receive their child. Children are expected to be dressed in the proper uniform of navy blue and white, the release stated.
St. Mary Community Action Agency Head Start Program provides services to children ages 3 to 5 years. The services include developmental, appropriate, educational activities, health and mental health services, socialization, and two hot meals and a snack for the children.
