Harvest Moon Festival Pageant to be held Saturday

The Fourth Annual Franklin Harvest Moon Festival Queen’s Pageant will be held Saturday, October 1 at 5 p.m. at the Teche Theatre for Performing Arts.

Contestants in the Miss Division are:

— McCarley Cossey – McCarley is the 17-year-old daughter of Charles “Tim” Cossey and Liz Todd. Her favorite subject is psychology and her hobbies include hanging out with friends and taking long road trips. Her special talents are drawing, painting and horseback riding. McCarley’s ambition is to become a psychologist, a cosmetologist or both. She is sponsored by Charles and Kimberly Saucier.

— Stasha Humphrey – Stasha is the 16-year-old daughter of Marlene and Ronald Owens. Her favorite subject is religion and her favorite book is Dead Man Walking by Sister Helen Prejean. Her hobbies include fishing, swimming, modeling and shopping. Stasha’s ambition is to meet Oprah. She is sponsored by her family.

— Jasmine R. McCoy – Jasmine is the 17-year-old daughter of Morris McCoy and Marie McCoy. Her favorite subject is biology and her favorite book is The Help by Katheryn Stockett. Her special talents include singing, dancing and acting. Jasmine’s ambition is to conquer the impossible! She is sponsored by her family.

— Shenae’ Monique Rudolph – Shenae’ is the 17-year-old daughter of Jeanette Rudolph. Her favorite subject is biology and her favorite book is Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell. Her special talents include dancing, sports and playing music. Her ambition is to become a Lawyer. She is sponsored by Greta Lowe and her mom.

— JoAja Inez Wilson – JoAja is the 16-year-old daughter of Umeka and Joseph Wilson Jr. Her favorite subjects are English, math and chemistry and her favorite book is Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, acting and playing musical instruments. Her special talents are choreography, decorating and drawing. JoAja’s ambition is to become an OB/GYN. She is sponsored by Laura Joshua, Rose Harris and her mom.

The contestant in the Little Miss Shining Star Division is:

— Isabella Polito – Isabella is the 6-year-old daughter of Andrea and Freddie Polito. Her favorite subjects are reading and center time and her hobbies include taking care of her dog, Lucy, and showing pigs. Her special talent is making people laugh. Isabella’s ambition is to become a veterinarian. She is sponsored by Brenda Saucier and her parents.

— Jolie Nichole Abernathy is the 6-year-old daughter of Angela and Shannon Guckeen and Jeff Abernathy. Her favorite subject is reading and her hobbies include playing with her family and reading. Her favorite book is Pete the Cat by Eric Litwin. Her special talent is dancing. Jolie’s ambition is to be a dancer for Justin Bieber. She is sponsored by her parents.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Toddlers and babies get in free.

All royalty crowned will be presented at the upcoming 12th Annual Harvest Moon Festival on Saturday, October 29.

The pageant is sponsored by the Franklin Merchant’s Association, the City of Franklin and the Franklin Lions Club Pageants, Susan Kerry Thibodeaux.
