Hanson Tigers too much for Jeanerette

JEANERETTE _ The Hanson Memorial Tigers opened the season with a 48-16 victory over the Jeanerette Tigers here Friday.

Hanson’s Jeff Soulis _ who rushed for 125 yards on 14 carries _ opened the scoring on a nine-yard run early in the first period.

Hanson moved to 14-0 when quarterback Bo Barrilleaux connected with Jacob Stewart on a 23-yard TD reception before Beau LeBlanc found daylight on a 63-yard TD run as the Hanson Tigers raced outfront by a 35-7 halftime score.

Hanson continued its dominance in the second half with two additional touchdowns on the way to the 48-16 victory over Jeanerette.

Hanson (1-0) will play host to Catholic High School of Point Coupee on Friday at McCloskey Field.
