Hanson rallies for 6-5 victory
Hanson Memorial struck for two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to pull out a 6-5 victory over the St. Martinville Tigers Saturday at the Amar Lancon Field.
Cameron Stovall picked up the win after appearing in relief of starter John Guienze. Stovall pitched 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on four hits with one strikeout and two walks. Guienze worked 4 1/3 frames, giving up two runs on one hit with five strikeouts and two walks.
Jake Cyr took the loss, allowing six runs (three earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Hanson, which opened the scoring with a 1-0 lead in the bottom half of the second inning, fourth back from a 5-4 deficit with a pair of runs in the seventh inning to earn the 6-5 victory.
Bo Barrilleaux went 3 for 4 with one run for the Tigers. Drake Businelle was 1 for 3 with a triple and run Cameron Stovall and Jacob Hebert collected hits in the contest.
Hanson will play host to Gueydan on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in District 8-A action.
