Hamer to be honored as CFA Philanthropy Leader
A Morgan City man will be honored during the 2011 Leaders in Philanthropy Awards ceremony at the Cajundome Convention Center in Lafayette on Nov. 10.
The event, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will honor Morgan City’s Gregory J. Hamer Sr. and seven other philanthropists who have created an impact in their communities.
Hamer is St. Mary’s representative and will be joined by Ted and Judy Carmichael, Acadia Parish; Tim Fontenot, Evangeline Parish; Dr. Mike and Mrs. Tommye Halphen, Iberia Parish; James “Jim” H. Prince, Lafayette Parish; Bobby Dupre, St. Landry Parish; Dr. Kenneth L. Fournet, St. Martin Parish; and Eugene M. Sellers, Vermilion Parish.
Individual tickets are $50, while a reserved table of eight is $495.
The ticket deadline is Wednesday.

The keynote speaker is Bert Jacobs, co-founder of Life Is Good. The business reaches sales of over $100 million per year.
