Halimar beats XLR8

Halimar Shipyard (Central Catholic) routed XLR8 Sports (Ellender), 16-4, Monday in Amelia.

Nick Case and Josh Singleton each finished 2-for-3, while Barron Courtney and Bryson Barbier each finished 1-for-2 in the win. Luke Landry added a 1-for-3 performance in the victory.

Halimar used five pitchers during the contest, each pitching no more than 11/3 innings.

Among those was Ryan Ratcliff, who pitched 11/3 innings and surrendered three runs on a hit. He walked five and struck out four.

Halimar will resume play today when it hosts neighborhood rival Skipper’s Sporting Goods (Morgan City). Junior varsity action will begin at 5 p.m. followed by varsity at 7 p.m.

Robicheaux Ford 10,

Taco Bell 4

Robichaux Ford (Vandebilt Catholic) scored in every inning except the first two en route to a 10-4 victory against Taco Bell (Berwick) Monday in Berwick.

Trailing 1-0, Robichaux scored three runs in the top of the third inning.

Taco Bell tied the score at 3 with two runs in the bottom of the frame but Robicheaux continued its onslaught with single runs in the fourth and fifth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh. Taco Bell scored a single run in the fifth.

Neither team produced many hits in the ball game as Taco Bell was limited to five and Robicheaux pounded out six.

Reed Leonard suffered the loss for Taco Bell, while at the plate, he finished 1-for-3.

Anthony Richard led Taco Bell with a 2-for-3 performance with a double, while Brooks Richard finished 1-for-2 and Daniel Gray concluded the evening with a 1-for-3 performance with a double.

Taco Bell will resume action today when it travels to face Reeco Rental (Thibodaux). Game times are set for 5 p.m. (junior varsity) and 7 p.m. (varsity).

Patterson, whose home game Monday against Bayou Boys (South Lafourche) was cancelled due to standing water on portions of the infield from this past weekend’s deluge of rain, will be on the road today to face Diamondbacks (Terrebonne). Game times are set for 5 p.m. (junior varsity) and 7 p.m. (varsity).
