Grizzaffi's beats Whitney Bank

Zaki’ Singleton went 4-for-4, and Grizzaffi’s Furniture defeated Whitney Bank, 14-13, in 7-8-year-old action at Spinella Park in Morgan City on Monday.

Singleton was among eight Grizzaffi’s players making the stat sheet. Other hitters included Zane Griffin, John Hymel and Ben Miller, each 3-for-4; Caden Adams, 2-for-3; and Drew Rock, Andy Gros and Vernon Singleton, all 2-for-4.

For Whitney Bank, Gary Nicar finished 3-for-3, while Jacob Blum, Cullen Adams, Kris Prejeant and Kale Beard each finished 2-for-3. Blake Peterson and Tyler Colbert each finished 1-for-3, while Bryson Dupuy had two hits, and Keegan Lodrigue added a hit.

Rapid Trucking 6,

Ocean Marine 3

Austin Reynolds and Reid Lodrigue each finished 1-for-2 as Rapid Trucking defeated Ocean Marine, 6-3, in 9-and 10-year-old action at Spinella Park.

Grant Stansbury earned the win on the mound, while Gilbert Johnson suffered the loss.

Morgan City Rentals 5, Dragna Bros. 2

Brooks Thomas connected on a double and pitched five innings as Morgan City Rentals defeated Dragna Bros., 5-2, in Dixie League action at Complex Park in Morgan City on Monday.

Thomas finished 1-for-3 and added a run, while on the mound he earned the win as he allowed two runs on three hits and struck out five. He also walked five in the win.

Kimoni Hurts led Morgan City Rentals with a 1-for-1 performance, while Greg Landry and Tucker Manuel each recorded an RBI and scored a run. Other contributors included Josh Sanford, an RBI; and Jabian Hartley and Cooper LeBlanc, each with a run.

For Dragna, Cameron Aucoin finished 1-for-2 with a double and Tanner Theriot added a 1-for-3 performance with an RBI. Jake Arceneaux added a 1-for-1 performance with a run, while Andre Dragna scored a run.

Johnny’s 13, Skipper’s 3

Makye Richard was perfect at the plate with two home runs and three RBIs as Johnny’s Propeller Shop defeated Skipper’s Sporting Goods, 13-3, in Dixie League action Monday at Complex Park.

Richard finished 2-for-2 at the plate and also scored two runs. Other Skipper’s hitters included Allen, 2-for-2, a double, an RBI and two runs; Dave Laubach, 2-for-3, an RBI; Ronjour Granger, 1-for-2, two RBIs and a run; Jean’ Pat Dupuy, 1-for-2, an RBI and two runs; Adam Blum, 1-for-2, two runs; Dede Grant and Tyler O’Con, 1-for-3, a run apiece; and Peter Washington, a run.

Allen earned the win. In four innings, he surrendered three runs on four hits. He walked four and struck out six.

For Skipper’s, Jahkheem Mosely finished 1-for-1 with a double, an RBI and a run, while Dylan Landry finished 1-for-2 with a run; Dakota Lux, 1-for-3; and Jack Autry, a run.

M C Bank 12, Taco Bell 9

Braxton Fontenot drove in three, and M C Bank defeated Taco Bell, 12-9, in City League action at Complex Park in Morgan City Thursday.

Fontenot finished 1-for-2 at the plate with a triple. Other M C Bank hitters included William LaRocca, 1-for-1, with two runs; Montrell Gould, 1-for-2, with a run; Peyton Grizzaffi, a run and two RBIs; Trent Armond, two runs and an RBI; Dylan Tingle, a run and an RBI; Eli Henry, with two runs; and Kolin Crappell, Jeramie Armond and Nylan Francis, each a run.

For Taco Bell, Akaya Poole had a huge game with a 2-for-2 performance with a double, a triple, five RBIs and a run; Austin Deshotel finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run; and Dale Turner added a 2-for-2 performance with a double, an RBI and a run. Other Taco Bell hitters included Kytrell Grogan and Gunner Theriot, each 1-for-1 with a run; Philip Guarisco, with an RBI and a run; Brett Morrel, with an RBI; Hugh Hamer, with two runs; and Grant Cheramie, a run.

Johnny’s Propeller 5, Dragna Bros. 2

Makye Richard tossed a no-hitter and finished perfect at the plate as Johnny’s Propeller defeated Dragna Bros., 5-2, in Dixie League action on Thursday at Complex Park.

Richard earned the win as he allowed one run, walked one and struck out seven in three innings of work.

At the plate, he finished 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run.

Other Johnny’s hitters included Ben Allen, 1-for-2, two RBIs; Tyler O’Con, two runs and an RBI; and Dede Grant and Peter Washington, each a run.

Allen also pitched two innings of relief and surrendered two runs on three hits. He walked three and struck out four.

For Dragna, Cameron Aucoin was tops with a 1-for-2 performance with a home run and two RBIs, while Hunter Mouton finished 1-for-2 and Brice Grizzaffi, 1-for-3 with a run.
