The Central Catholic Lady Eagles fought hard against Vermilion Catholic, Division IV’s second-ranked squad, but came up short, falling 38-28 in Morgan City Tuesday in District 7-1A action.

The Morgan City Lady Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat Assumption, 49-44, in District 7-4A basketball action in Morgan City Friday.

The Patterson Lumberjills broke a nine-game losing streak and won their first District 8-3A contest of the season Tuesday with a 39-31 victory against Franklin in Patterson.
