Geneva Verrett Parker
October 6, 1943 — May 1, 2013
Geneva Verrett Parker, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 1, 2013, at the age of 69.
Geneva is survived by her fiancé, Clifton “Buck” Anderson; her sister, Earline Jones; her niece, Charlotte Walker and her husband, Rodney; her nephew, James W. Jones; her great-niece, Jill Walker; and great-great-nephew, Cole James Walker.
Geneva had an adventurous life. She never missed an opportunity to be involved in her community. In her younger years, she was involved in boat racing. She also enjoyed traveling and has been many places across the globe. Geneva was not only a patron of the arts, she was also a talented painter who once was the student of artist Bob Greenwood. Geneva also bowled all of her adult life, winning many awards and titles. She also was an avid sewer and quilter. Geneva will be sadly missed be all and never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson “Pete” Verrett and Christine Gaudet Verrett.
A celebration of Geneva’s life will be observed Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary prayed at 5 p.m.; continuing Monday, May 6, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. with graveside services in the Morgan City Cemetery.
