Gator Rigging remains undefeated

Gator Rigging improved to 10-0 on the season following a 9-6 win against Lafayette Electric Thursday in 11- and 12-year-old action at the Bayou Vista Civic Center.

Zeph Hoffpauir earned the win as he pitched four innings and allowed a run, walked one and fanned seven.

Adam Askew earned the save as he pitched a third of an inning and surrendered a hit, a walk and struck out one.

Lafayette Electric scored all of their runs late in the contest.

At the plate for Gator Rigging, Ian Valdez finished 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs.

Michael Wise finished 1-for-1 with a run, while Bryson Barras was 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run.

For Lafayette Electric, Michael Aucoin surrendered seven runs — none earned — on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in three innings of work.

Shayne Berger also pitched two innings and surrendered two earned runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout.

Berger led Lafayette Electric at the plate with a 1-for-3 performance with a double and three RBIs, while Daniel Seymour was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run.

In City League action in Morgan City, Morgan City Rentals defeated Taco Bell/KFC, 7-5.

Luke Barbier led Morgan City Rentals as he finished 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs.

He also earned the win on the mound as he surrendered a run on no hits with seven walks and eight strikeouts in four innings of work.

Other contributors for Morgan City Rentals included Jordan Percle, 2-for-3, a double and two RBIs; Jacob Blum, 1-for-1, a double and a run; Matthew Mire, 1-for-2, a run; Dakari Clark, 1-for-3, a run; and Ty’Jae Vaughns, two runs.

For Taco Bell/KFC, Gunner Theriot finished 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run; Ty Hartley, 1-for-2, an RBI; Amari Christopher, 1-for-1, a run; Brett Morell, two runs; and Nick Black, a run.

Also Thursday, Gator Rigging defeated Grizzly Marine by forfeit.

In Thursday’s action at Spinella Park, A.J. Dohmann defeated Scully’s, 14-7.

Caleb O’Con led A.J. Dohmann with a 5-for-5 performance. Other top hitters included Gage Patureau, 4-for-4; Bryson Roy, 3-for-3; Dominic Case, four hits; Angelo Viscardi, Aidan Gowan and Collin Gowan, each 3-for-4; Andrew Cavalier, 1-for-3; and Layne Guidry, 1-for-5.

Cameron LaCoste led Scully’s with a 3-for-3 performance, while Landon Gagliano, Maddox Pellerin and Deonte Stephens each finished 2-for-3; John Myers, 1-for-2; and Ben Lewis and Xander Thibodeaux, each 1-for-3.
