Gator Rigging clinches title

Gator Rigging clinched the 11- and 12-year-old title in St. Mary Central and remained undefeated with an 8-5 victory against Tiger Island Tuesday at the Bayou Vista Civic Center.

Luke Felterman earned the win as he fanned 12 and surrendered four runs — two earned — on two hits in five innings of work. He also walked two.

In an inning of work, Ian Valdez surrendered a run on a hit with two walks.

At the plate for Gator Rigging (11-0), Adam Askew led St. Mary Central with a 2-for-3 performance with a double, an out-of-the-park home run, four RBIs and two runs, while Valdez added a 2-for-2 performance with a double, an RBI and two runs.

Other top contributors included Zeph Hoffpauir, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; Michael Wise, 1-for-2, an RBI; and Luke Felterman, 1-for-2, a double and two runs.

Seth Giroir took the loss for Tiger Island. In 2.1 innings of work, he surrendered five runs on five hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

At the plate, Giroir was 2-for-3 with a triple, an out-of-the-park home run, three RBIs and a run.

Mitchell Fredrick also finished 1-for-3 with two runs.

Hunter Landry also pitched 2.2 innings for Tiger Island and surrendered three runs on five hits with three walks and fanned four.

Taco Bell 14,

Gator Rigging 4

Brett Morrell fanned 11 and had two hits as Taco Bell/KFC roared past Gator Rigging in City League action at Complex Park in Morgan City Tuesday.

Morrell earned the win on the mound as he allowed a hit and four runs in four innings of work.

At the plate, he was 2-for-3 with three runs.

Other contributors for Taco Bell/KFC included Gunner Theriot, 1-for-3, two RBIs; Amaria Christopher, 1-for-2, an RBI and two runs; Tate Matherne, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; Hugh Hamer, 1-for-4, an RBI and two runs; Kale Beard and Dale Turner, each an RBI and a run; and Drew Rock and Kye Hartley, each two runs.

Caleb Menina led Gator Rigging with a 1-for-3 performance with two runs, while Peyton Grizzaffi and Leroy Byers each scored a run.

Morgan City Rentals 16, Charlie’s Lanes 1

Dakota Gibson drove in three as Morgan City Rentals defeated Charlie’s Lanes in City League action at Complex Park Tuesday.

Gibson finished 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run.

Other top contributors included Luke Barbier, who finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and three runs. Barbier also earned the win on the mound. He pitched four innings of no-hit ball, surrendering a run, four walks and striking out 10.

Matthew Mire also finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs for Morgan City Rentals, while Hanson Cutrera was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run; Da’khri Clark, 1-for-1, an RBI and a run; Peyton Smith, 1-for-2, an RBI and a run; Ty’Jai Vaughns and Durwayne Canty, each two runs; and Robbie Boudreaux and Jordan Percle, each a run.

Jackson Butler walked and scored a run for Charlie’s Lanes.

Candy Fleet 15, Scully’s 5

Logan Hebert, Mason Johnston and Carsyn Meador all finished 3-for-3 as Candy Fleet defeated Scully’s 15-5, in action at Spinella Park Tuesday. Other top contributors included Drew Miller, De Mari Watkins, Dylan Reynolds, Gavyn Ramagos, Vahir Zermeno, Tristen Gibson and Jayden Little, all 2-for-3.

Landon Gagliano and Tyler Smith each finished 2-for-2 for Scully’s, while Jase Blanco, Deonte Stephens, Ben Lewis, and John Myers all finished 1-for-2.

Rapid Trucking 17,

Whitney Bank 2

Three players collected three hits apiece as Rapid Trucking defeated Whitney Bank at Spinella Park Tuesday.

TyJon Folse, Tylon Mobley and Damondrick Blackburn each finished 3-for-3 in the win, while Howard Kinchen, Elijah Brown, Ramye Jones, Laurielle Bias and JaQuan Gray all finished 2-for-2. Other top contributors included Drake Hue, Keegan Lane and Mike Jones, all 1-for-2.

For Whitney Bank, Blake Peterson finished 2-for-2, while Gary Nicar and Tyler Stewart each were 1-for-1 and Zack Billiot, 1-for-2.
