Gator Rigging beats Tiger Island in last at bat
BAYOU VISTA — Gator Rigging plated two runs in its last at bat to edge Tiger Island, 6-5, in St. Mary Central 11-12 year-old baseball action Tuesday.
Trailing 5-4, Gator Rigging started the rally with a solo home run by Adam Askew, who was facing two strikes at the time with one out in the inning, to tie the game at 5.
After Luke Felterman walked, his pinch runner, Zeph Hoffpauir, scored following a double by Tyler Thibodaux over the first baseman’s head.
Hoffpauir earned the win in two innings of relief. He surrendered two runs on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
Ian Valdez started the game and in an inning he surrendered a run on a hit with three walks and three strikeouts.
Askew pitched the next three innings and surrendered two runs on a hit with four walks and five strikeouts.
Askew led Gator Rigging at the plate with a 2-for-2 performance with a double, a home run, an RBI and two runs scored, while Felterman finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run. Tyler Thibodaux finished 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Cruiz Crawford recorded a 1-for-2 performance with a double and a run scored.
Mitchell Fredrick suffered the loss as he surrendered four runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts in four innings of work. Seth Giroir started the game and in two innings he surrendered two runs on a hit with two walks and five strikeouts.
Fredrick finished 2-for-2 with a double and a run for Tiger Island, while Tristan McGonagill finished 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Other contributors for Tiger Island included Abram Gilder, 1-for-2, a double; Hunter Landry, 1-for-2, two runs; and Seth Giroir, 1-for-3, a run.

Kyle Valdez tossed a no hitter and Ross Thomas and Parker Kulka each homered as BNA Marine Services rolled past Allison Marine, 14-0, in baseball action in St. Mary Central Tuesday.
Valdez earned the no-hitter and the win in four innings of work.
At the plate, Kulka finished 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBIs and three runs, while Thomas finished 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Other contributors for BNA Marine included Valdez, 2-for-2, a double, two RBIs and two runs; Lucas Brinlee, 2-for-3, three RBIs and two runs; Tanner Simmons, 1-for-1, three runs scored; and Coy Leonard, 1-for-1, two runs.
Raeph Hinson suffered the loss for Allison Marine as he surrendered nine runs on four hits and walked four in two innings of work.
Clay Menard, who reached first on an error, was Allison Marine’s lone base runner.
