Fuselier-Naquin say wedding vows at Sacred Heart

Holly Elizabeth Fuselier and Philip Joseph Naquin were married Dec. 2 during a double-ring ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City. The Rev. Greg Fratt officiated.

The bride is the daughter of J.D. and Betty Fuselier of Morgan City. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eroy Acosta of Morgan City and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Fuselier.

The groom is the son of Kathy Naquin of Thibodaux and the late Barry B. Naquin. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Naquin of Thibodaux and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Waguespack.

For the wedding, the church altar held arrangements of white gladioluses, larkspur, Monte Casino, roses and spider mums. Pews were adorned with large ivory roses embellished with rhinestones and white tulle.

Music was by Paula Aucoin, pianist and vocalist; Jody Aucoin, guitarist and vocalist; and Laura Gaudet, vocalist.

Lectors were Kathleen Daigle and Gabrielle Prejean. Giftbearers were Peggy Daigle, godmother of the bride and Connie Stuckey, godmother of the groom.

Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown with asymmetrical ruching on the bodice, a full skirt overlaid with English tulle and finished with a chapel-length train. Embellishing the waist, sheath-style strap and back of the bodice were emerald and marquise shapes and pearls.

Gracing her head was a headpiece of pearl, emerald and marquise-shaped jewels that held a chapel-length train sprinkled with Swarovski crystals.

She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis accented with rhinestones highlighted by a jeweled initial representing her last name. The satin stem wrap was trimmed in rhinestones with a center brooch. Finishing her bouquet was a rosary from Italy and a handkerchief made from her grandmother Leatrice Acosta’s wedding dress.

Laura Hoffmann was maid of honor and Megan Hall Askew was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Brooke Naquin, Kelly Matte Burch, Brittni Osburn, Ashley Harrington, Renee Naquin, Amber Wooldridge Sevin and Ashley Waguespack. Emily Bailey was junior bridesmaid.

Bridal attendants each wore a navy, strapless gown fashioned with asymmetrical ruching on the bodice and a skirt overlaid with navy chiffon.

They carried small bouquets of white roses with stems wrapped with navy ribbon adorned with rhinestones.

Flower girls Taylor May, Kylee Askew and Brooklyn Comeaux each wore a white dress with English tulle similar to the bride’s. They carried miniature rose bouquets and a small purse designed with roses.

Ringbearer was Conner Daigle.

James Steib was best man. Groomsmen were Tyler Vaughn, Joel Daigle, Dane Daigle, Timothy Daigle, Evan Chiasson, Scot Badeaux, Walton Guidry III and Matthew Bonvillian. Hunter Daigle was junior groomsman.

Ushers were Keith Daigle, Barcley Steib, Beau Stuckey, Adam Acosta and Ryan Duet.

A reception followed at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium.

The bride’s four-tiered cake featured round, hexagon and square tiers separated by two bases covered in sugar crystals. Adorning the confection was a fabric-like drape of fondant accented with rhinestone brooches. The couple’s initials graced the front of the cake. Topping the confection was a two-loop bow with a rhinestone brooch center.

The groom’s red velvet cake was decorated to honor the U.S. Marines.

Cutting the cakes were Carmen Fuselier and Emilda Landry, aunts of the bride.

Tea girls were Alexandria Acosta, Gabriella Acosta, Macie Kendall, Ryan Katherine Caldwell, Olivia Baio and Alyssa Broussard.

Prior to the wedding, the groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Latin Corner in Morgan City.

The bride is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Morgan City and Nicholls State University in Thibodaux with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is employed with Whitney Bank.

The groom is a graduate of Thibodaux High School. He attended NSU, and Park University in South Carolina while serving in the Marine Corps. He is employed at Sewart Supply.

They honeymooned in Jamaica and reside in Morgan City.
