FSHS, WSM play Saturday; Hanson Tigers battle Sunday
With the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac, local teams will be playing this weekend.
The Franklin Hornets are set to host the West St. Mary Wolfpack in the annual “Fire on the Bayou” battle on Saturday at 6 p.m. at J. C. Dry Stadium.
The Hanson Memorial Tigers will square off against Ascension Catholic on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Boutte Stadium in Donaldsonville.
Franklin and West St. Mary will battle on Saturday after both teams turned in impressive outings in the annual St. Mary Parish Jamboree last Friday in Morgan City.
West St. Mary posted a 21-7 win over the Berwick Panthers in the first contest before Franklin followed with a 6-0 win over the Morgan City Tigers on a wet field.
The Hanson Tigers will enter Sunday’s game against Ascension Catholic after earning a 24-22 win over St. Ed’s in last week’s Opelousas Kiwanis Jamboree.
