Berwick High School’s Kenan Jones led the local contingent of competitors at Saturday’s indoor LSU High School Qualifier as he won the long jump, high jump and triple jump.

A group of community members hopes to bring a day care facility for senior citizens to Morgan City before the end of 2018.

In January, St. Mary Parish students in various related programs converge on Franklin High School to demonstrate their learning and their achievements. Last weekend's event was the latest in a long tradition of that showcase.

CLECO breaks ground for clean energy plant

Ground was broken last Friday at a facility in St. Mary Parish that is poised to put waste heat from one of the area’s carbon black plants to work powering homes in the area.
