April 15, 1936 ~ April 30, 2016 Lodger J. Segura, a native of Erath and longtime resident of Franklin, passed away at the age of 80, on Saturday, at 11:47 a.m., at his home surrounded by his family following a brief illness.
Cadets at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Regional Training Academy recently attended a course given by the Chez Hope Family Violence Crisis Center on recognizing domestic abuse. Members of Chez Hope explained victim notification laws and processes as well as how deputies can refer victims to the services they need.
Central Catholic and Grand Lake will play their Class 1A regional round playoff game today at 6 p.m. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette's M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field. The teams originally were set to meet Saturday at Central Catholic's home field in Amelia, but that game was rained out.

Police Reports 3-3-16

St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:
Matthew Strubb, 18, of 1803 Canal Drive, Franklin, was arrested Wednesday at 9:33 a.m. and charged with illegal possession of stolen things. No bail was set.
