Patterson High standout point guard Taylan Grogan had his dream come true Friday, signing a national letter of intent to play college basketball at Louisiana College in Pineville. But the Class 3A All-State point guard still has a chip on his shoulder.
Talented individuals in St. Mary Parish will exhibit their skills this Friday at the Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts with the curtain going up at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. The event has been described as “St. Mary Parish’s premiere talent show.” Contestants include: Reneka Thomas Cassidy Dupree
The St. Mary Parish Foundation, an affiliate of Community Foundation of Acadiana, awarded a total of over $16,000 to 11 local schools and nonprofit organizations from its competitive grant cycle.

Police Reports 4-19-16

Franklin Police Chief Sabria McGuire reported the following arrests:
Morris Thibeaux, 60, of Franklin, was arrested Friday at 7:03 p.m. for the charge of disturbing the peace by public intoxication. Thibeaux was processed and held on a $500 bond.

An MVP once more: MCHS retires Kenny Alfred's number

Former Morgan City High School baseball player and coach Kenny Alfred became the first baseball player in school history to have his number retired when a ceremony was held Friday.
