Justin Edward Patterson may have mistaken Mikki Jay Dauntain, the man he allegedly shot to death in 2013 in Morgan City, for another person he believed was one of the people who robbed him six weeks earlier in the city of Patterson.

Food Net’s “Food for Families” drive is in full gear today. Locally, donations can be made at the following locations: Church of the Assumption’s parish hall, Main and Iberia streets, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Baldwin Fire Department, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Main Street, Baldwin; St. Joseph Catholic Church, Centerville, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please check the expiration dates on all canned goods that they are not expired. Monetary donations are also accepted.

November opens next week

Cast and crew are in rehearsal for the Teche Theater’s upcoming production of “November.” It is an adult comedy, and tickets are available at the Lamp Lighter in Franklin. General admission is $10 each night, and cheese and desert matinee tickets are $15. General admission performances are Nov. 3 and 7 at 7 p.m.; Wine and cheese performances are Nov. 4 and 5 at 7 p.m.; and the desert matinee is Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. The production is directed by Diane Wiltz.

Berwick's boys clawed out a home court win, 53-42, win against the 6-2A Catholic High of New Iberia Panthers. Individual statistics for BHS wasn't available at press time. Both the Panthers and the Lady Panthers will play Friday at Christian Life Academy
