BAYOU VISTA — Central Catholic outlasted False River, 2-0, in the second-round of the Class 1A playoffs Thursday behind Megan Landry’s 12-strikeout gem to advance to the quarterfinals in Sulphur.
Employees of the Month were recognized during the April meeting of the St. Mary Parish School Board. They are from left, Mary Ann Matthews, a cafeteria worker from West St. Mary High School, and Loraine Sinitiere, a teacher a Patterson Junior High.
St. Mary Chamber of Commerce representatives, local officials and well-wishers participated in a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony Wednesday at Salon Chez Jolie, the former Head To Toe, at 1502 Main St., Suite 3, in Franklin.

Early morning crash

A vehicle crashed into Main Street Café in downtown Franklin around 2 a.m. today. Franklin Police report that Logan Savoie, 23, of Cedarwood Street, Franklin, was charged at 2:47 a.m.
