A Business After Hours party to kick off the Black Bear Festival was held Thursday at the Teche Theatre for the Performing Arts in Franklin. The St. Mary Chamber of Commerce event included musical entertainment by Rick Lorenzo and many local food vendors. The festival kicks off tonight at 6 and continues through Sunday.

Early morning crash

A vehicle crashed into Main Street Café in downtown Franklin around 2 a.m. today. Franklin Police report that Logan Savoie, 23, of Cedarwood Street, Franklin, was charged at 2:47 a.m.
