Alan Nursall learned how to do just that and about the science behind the Atmospheric Diving System at Phoenix International Wednesday when he was in Bayou Vista to tape a segment for Daily Planet, a science and technology show on Discovery Canada.

3 animals said to be euthanized as animal rescue folks were on their way to center

These dogs were euthanized last week before the person who was going to adopt them arrived a few hours late.

There are expected to be a lot of people Wednesday at the Vermilion Parish Police Jury Committee meeting in hopes of getting things changed at the Vermilion Parish Rabies Control Center.

Scouts attend merit badge event

Boy Scout Troop 242 in Calumet members attended the Istrouma Council Merit Badge Day held at LSU on March 8. More than 500 boys participated in the annual event. All total, the boys attending earned 16 merit badges. Troop members, front row, are Tyler Verdin, Connor Verdin, Joseph Duhon and Justin Chauvin. Telly LaSalle has been a supporter of the Acadiana Cerebral Palsy of Louisiana Telethon for many years. Each year LaSalle and his mother, Cindy, strives to meet his goal so that he can deliver the contributions he collects from area merchants and supporters.
