Patterson High teacher and coach Brandon Harden resigned today as an employee of St. Mary Parish schools. St. Mary Superintendent Leonard Armato only confirmed Harden’s resignation was effective immediately and stated it was received today. He did not comment beyond that.

Hungry woman's request inspired feeding ministry

Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church in Morgan City served Thanksgiving meals Wednesday to local residents. It all started as a response to fill a need in the community.

A crew with the CBS drama “NCIS: New Orleans” got a little taste of life on an oil rig Wednesday while filming at the “Mr. Charlie” rig museum in Morgan City.

Sugar cane field smoke causes stir

A combination of smoke and fog left visibility in areas between Franklin and Centerville on La. 182 down to just a few feet Tuesday evening. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office released information Wednesday morning in regards to a smoke and fog event that began Tuesday night around 9 p.m.
