Anytime Morgan City and Patterson meet between the white lines, it’s a rivalry game. But at this year’s game in the Taco Bell/KFC St. Mary Parish Football Jamboree Friday at Tiger Stadium in Morgan City, there’s even more bragging rights at stake as longtime fellow coaches find themselves on opposite sidelines for the first time.

Holy Cross science lesson

Students in third through sixth grades at Holy Cross Elementary School in Morgan City learned cell theory in science class. Each student in sixth grade built an edible DNA model with Twizzlers, marshmallows and toothpicks while learning basic DNA structure and the rules of base pairing. The students in fourth and sixth grades created plant or animal cells identifying the parts of the cell and the function of each part. Sixth-graders Peyton Skiles and Haley Fontenot show their models of a plant and animal cell.
