fred’s Super Dollar raising money for children’s hospitals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Shoppers at fred’s Super Dollar have an opportunity to support the health care of children in their area by purchasing special $1 paper Miracle Balloons that will benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

During the next two months — until March 31 — shoppers at fred’s Super Dollar will be able to purchase a Miracle Balloon at any fred’s Super Dollar location. All the proceeds from the sale of the paper balloons will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in the community where the Miracle Balloon is purchased.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to generating funds and awareness for children’s hospitals and their programs across the country. The organization assists 170 children’s hospitals that provide special care to injured and sick children in communities across North America.

“fred’s Super Dollar again welcomes this opportunity to join Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in helping deliver quality health care to children,” said Ursula Roman, marketing director at fred’s. “Since the start of our involvement in 2006, the generosity of fred’s Super Dollar customers has been amazing.

“The campaign has raised more than $3.3 million since it began seven years ago,” Roman continued. “Last year, fred’s Super Dollar shoppers donated a record total of $637,916. Watching the one-dollar donations grow into an amount that will have an important impact is truly heartwarming.”

This year, fred’s Super Dollar hopes to sell 900 balloons in each of its stores.

This would result in raising more than $600,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

As an added incentive, customers who purchase a Miracle Balloon at fred’s Super Dollar will be rewarded with a coupon for $1 off the purchase of two bags of Mars candy. The coupon will be valid from the start of the program through Easter Sunday, March 31.

“fred’s Super Dollar serves communities across the region, and what better way to help these communities than by assisting with the health of their children by supporting the hospitals that care for them,” said Roman. “fred’s Super Dollar is proud to be a part of a program we know will make a huge difference.”

fred’s Super Dollar offers a wide variety of products to choose from, including home décor, cleaning supplies, pet supplies, party supplies, and grocery items. fred’s Super Dollar is famous for its everyday low prices; with more than 2,200 items for just $1.
