Franklin wins over Centerville
Winning pitcher B. J. Mitchell led the Franklin Hornets to a 10-0 victory over the Centerville Bulldogs here Thursday at the Franklin Baseball Diamond.
Mitchell pitched five innings, yielding no runs on three hits with six strikeouts and two walks.
Dylan Burgess and Chance Landry took the hill for the Bulldogs. Burgess started and worked 2 1/3 frames, allowing three earned runs on two hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Landry also worked 2 1/3 innings, surrendering two earned runs on four hits with two strikeouts and five walks.
Leading hitters for Franklin were: Brandon McFarlane, 1 for 3, triple, 2 runs; Allen Randle, 1 for 2, run, 2 RBI; Demonte Mickles, run; Angelo Eave, 1 for 2, 2 runs; Jarion Brown, 2 for 2, run; Devonte Joseph, 1 for 1, run; Bernard Mitchell, 2 for 3, 2 runs and Zach Stewart, RBI.
Leading hitters for Centerville were: Peyton Landry, 1 for 2; Tristan Duncan, 1 for 3 and Tyler Theriot, 1 for 3.
Franklin will return to action Tuesday at Jeanerette at 4 p.m.
Centerville will play host to Grand Isle on Monday at 5 p.m. at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette Baseball Field Complex.
