Franklin council meets Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Franklin City Council members meet tonight in regular session for August.
The council will consider bids for a new water clarifier roof and waterproofing of city hall.
Guests include a representative of the Garden City Riders, regarding a trail ride; Council on Aging Executive Director Beverly Domengeaux; and Jeff O’Guin of Progressive Waste Solutions.
Resolutions include final acceptance of the school sidewalks project; a capital outlay request from the state; and lifting the alcohol container law (no glass containers allowed) for Tour du Teche and Franklin Harvest Moon Fest on Oct. 5 and on Sept. 27-29 for the Garden City Riders’ trail ride.
Proclamations include recognizing Mary Ann Fournier for her years of service on the city planning commission and Cedric Paul for his track and field accomplishments.
Appointments include Donnie Bourque to the Planning Commission; Guienzy Brent to the Historic District Commission; Jamie Robison to the Zoning Board of Adjustments; and Barry Sanders as an alternate to the Zoning Board of Adjustments.
Mayor Raymond Harris is slated to speak under the heading “community achievement award.”
The council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Iberia Street.
