Franklin council meets Tuesday
Franklin City Council members meet Tuesday in regular session for October.
Guests include representatives from the Franklin Merchants Association’s Harvest Moon Festival and the Red Ribbon Committee, and Rillius Fitch with a water bill dispute.
Police Chief Sabria McGuire will propose trick-or-treat hours for Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.
Ordinances up for introduction include renaming Fourth Street to Oneal-Chube Street; a budget amendment, and “allowing for an act of sale/exchange of the Crowell Building (City Hall), 300 Iberia St., in the amount of $35,000 between the City of Franklin and the St. Mary Parish School Board.”
There is a proclamation in support of Red Ribbon Week.
Mayor Harris is expected to discuss a fire service certificate; bonding of $400,000 for city hall repairs and bonding of $715,000 for street repairs in the second phase.
Councilman Eugene Foulcard is slated to discuss the Broussard Harris Recreation Center restrooms and parking lot lighting.
The council meets at 6 p.m. at City Hall on Iberia Street.
