Franklin All-Stars 3-1 in district tourney

PATTERSON _ Franklin strung together a 3-1 overall record in the District 3 Majors Tournament here at Kemper Williams Park.

The Franklin 12-year-old All-Stars posted a spotless 3-0 record in their first three appearances.

On Sunday, the Franklin All-Stars dropped a 10-5 loss to St. Mary Central.

Franklin opened the district tourney with three straight victories over Patterson, Morgan City and Thibodaux to move to 3-0 in the tournament.

Franklin slipped to 3-1 on Sunday following a hard-fought 10-5 setback to St. Mary Central.

Franklin is currently in second place in the tournament with a 3-1 overall mark. Franklin finished playing in the tournament which closes out action tonight.

St. Mary Central currently stands alone in first place in the district tourney with a 3-0 record. St. Mary Central will be in action in tonight’s final day of action.

In tonight’s opener, St. Mary Central will battle Morgan City at 5:30 prior to Thibodaux taking on Patterson in the nightcap.

St. Mary Central also owns the tie-breaker by virtue of its 10-5 win over Franklin in Sunday’s action.
