Lafayette Christian overwhelms Berwick, 43-13

Berwick High School fell to Lafayette Christian 43-13 Friday in Lafayette. After jumping out to a 7-0 lead, the Panthers couldn’t sustain the momentum. 'Jacks top Donaldsonville 45-13 for fourth straight win

The Patterson Lumberjacks won their fourth straight contest this season with a 45-13 victory against Donaldsonville Friday. The contest was the Lumberjacks’ District 9-3A opener. Above, Patterson’s Mykel Jones catches a pass for a touchdown, while Donaldsonville’s Cardell Forcell defends. Jones led the Patterson receivers with nine catches for 166 yards and four touchdowns.

What looked early like it could be a high-scoring, barn burner ended up being a one-sided rout as Patterson opened District 9-3A action at home Friday with a 45-13 win against Donalsonville.

Morgan City High School fell to Ellender 41-12 Friday in Bourg in the Tigers’ District 7-4A opener. The Tigers had trouble stopping the Patriots ground game as the Patriots rushed for 373 yards.
