Fire Department Duathlon is Saturday
A second Hero’s Duathlon/Fun Run is set Saturday in Franklin.
Sponsored by the Franklin Volunteer Fire Department the run welcomes first-time and experienced participants.
There will also be family fun, food, beverages and more. A post-race party and awards ceremony are also planned after the race.
The race begins at 8 a.m. Proceeds will be donated to the two officers wounded in the line of duty Jan. 26 in Charenton.

The race begins on Willow Street at the rear of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse then heads north to Stroh’s Drive.
Turn left on Stroh’s Drive, continue to Beth Drive to the end of the cul-de-sac and return back up Beth Drive to Stroh’s Drive to Willow Street.
Turn right on Willow Street and continue to Main Street, turn right onto Main Street on the boulevard and continue to Adams Street.
Turn around at Adams Street and continue back down Main Street on the opposite side of the boulevard to Willow Street returning to the start/finish line.
La. 87 will be used from Willow Street down to one-half mile past the Centerville Bridge Approach Road and back to Willow Street for the bike route.
The Centerville Bridge Approach Road will be closed during the Duathlon but local traffic will be allowed in and out at a safe speed.
Willow Street will be blocked at La. 87 for the duration of the bike race also and local traffic will be allowed in and out at a safe speed.

Main at Adams
Local traffic will be allowed to enter the businesses and residential areas when safe to do so. Please let the officer/personnel know where you are going once you get to the road block and you will be allowed in once the path in safe.
