EMERY J. HEBERT JR.

Rosary and funeral services were held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 12 p.m., at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin for Emery J. Hebert Jr., 57, a native of Franklin and longtime resident of Baldwin, who passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday morning. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Baldwin. Deacon Gerald Bourg officiated the services.
Emery’s passion in life was antiques. He was the owner and operator of Emery’s Antiques and Collectibles in Baldwin for 35 years, and was in the antiques business since graduating high school. He took great pride and satisfaction in restoring and bringing life back to neglected antiques whether through refinishing, repairing or replacing broken pieces, and even re-caning old rocking chairs. Along with his passion of antiques was a lifelong dream of owning a Louisiana Plantation Home. For the past ten plus years he accomplished his dream by owning and living in The Darby Plantation.
Survivors include one sister, Helen Hebert Guillotte and her husband Theophile; one nephew, Theophile Guillotte II and his wife, Deborah; one niece, Kim Guillotte Guillot and her husband, Daniel; one great-nephew, Devin Guillotte; one great-niece, Chloe Guillot; and a very special friend, Denise Champagne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emery J. Hebert Sr. and Verna Porrier Hebert; and one sister, Linda Marie Hebert.
A gathering of family and friends was held Saturday at Ibert’s Mortuary in Franklin from 10 a.m. until time of rosary and funeral service at 12 p.m.
