Eagles place 12 on All-District squads

Central Catholic placed 12 on the All-District 8-1A baseball squad, including three on the first team.
CCHS, the district runner-up to Vermilion Catholic with a 5-3 district mark, placed sophomore pitcher Bryson Barbier, junior outfielder Josh Singleton and junior third baseman Luke Landry on the top squad.
Vermilion Catholic swept the top honors as Blair Landry and Danny McMurtry were named player and coach of the year, respectively. McMurtry led Vermilion Catholic to an 8-0 mark, while Landry finished the district season with a .400 batting average.
Barbier finished the district season with a 3-1 record, a 4.02 ERA and 20 strikeouts.
Singleton and Landry completed their district seasons with .366 and .304 batting averages, respectively.
CCHS also placed five athletes on the second team, senior pitcher Nick Longman, senior first baseman Ridge Rousseau, junior catcher Dominick Guarisco, sophomore outfielder Eriq Blanchard and sophomore utility player Barron Courtney.
Four Eagles made the honorable mention team in juniors Austin Autin and Justin Arceneaux and sophomores Nick Case and Tyler Hoffpauir.
