District 3 AA Tournament action begins today
BAYOU VISTA — Local youth baseball district all-star action will begin today when the District 3 AA (8U) Tournament kicks off at the Bayou Vista Civic Center.
Six teams will participate in the tournament: Morgan City, Franklin, Patterson, Thibodaux National, Thibodaux American and St. Mary Central.
Action will be played on two fields.
Today’s action begins with a 5:30 p.m. contest between Morgan City and Franklin on field 1 and the contest between St. Mary Central and Thibodaux American begins at the same time on field 2.
At 7 p.m. Patterson will play Thibodaux National on field 1.
Action will continue Thursday when Thibodaux National will meet St. Mary Central at 5:30 p.m. on field 1, while at the same time on field 2 Patterson will play Franklin.
At 7 p.m. Thursday, Thibodaux American will play Morgan City on field 1.
On Friday, Thibodaux American will meet Thibodaux National at 5:30 p.m. on field 1, while at the same time on field 2 Morgan City will face Patterson.
At 7 p.m. on field 1, St. Mary Central will play Franklin.
Saturday’s action includes games on field 1 at 10 a.m. featuring Patterson and St. Mary Central, at noon between Thibodaux National and Franklin and at 2 p.m. between Patterson and Thibodaux American.
On field 2 Saturday, Thibodaux American and Franklin will meet at 10 a.m., while Morgan City and St. Mary Central will play at noon and Thibodaux National and Morgan City will meet at 2 p.m.
MC 9s, 11s begin play Thursday
The Morgan City 9- and 11-year-old All-Stars will begin play in their District 3 tournaments Thursday at Peltier Park in Thibodaux.
In 9-year-old action, Morgan City will begin play at 6 p.m. against Thibodaux, while on Friday, Thibodaux and Franklin will meet at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, Morgan City and Franklin will play at 10 a.m.
Action will continue Sunday in the double-elimination tournament with the tournament champ crowned either Sunday morning in a 10 a.m. contest or in an if-necessary contest at 2 p.m.
In 11-year-old action, Morgan City and Thibodaux will kick off tournament action Thursday with an 8 p.m. contest, while on Friday, Thibodaux and Franklin will meet at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, Franklin and Morgan City will play at noon.
Action will continue Sunday in the double-elimination tournament with the tournament champ crowned either Sunday morning in a noon contest or in an if-necessary contest at 4 p.m.
