Deputies arrested BR man for killing kittens

The killing of kittens was one crime on which St. Mary Parish deputies made arrests overnight.

Michael Bergeron, 34, of Wooddale Boulevard, Baton Rouge, was arrested Tuesday at 2:48 p.m. for two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. Bergeron allegedly killed kittens at 126 Natalie Lane in Patterson. He was booked into the parish jail with no bond set.

The SMSO also arrested:

—Shauntell N. Hartdegen, 28, of Hwy. 20, Schriever, arrested Tuesday at 5:28 p.m. on warrants for failure to appear on charges of stop sign violation, driving without a license, seat belt violation, driving while intoxicated, hit and run driving and issuing worthless checks. She was booked into the parish jail with a $4,413.50 bond.

—Brandon M. Gaudet, 22, of Patterson, arrested Tuesday at 7:04 p.m. on warrants for failure to appear on charges of hit-and-run driving, driving under suspension, expired inspection sticker, expired license plate, failure to stop, no insurance, careless operation, failure to appear to serve sentence of six months, and on Lafourche Parish warrants for failure to appear on the charges of driving while intoxicated, stop sign violation, and failure to show proof of community service. He was booked into the parish jail with no bond set.

—Terry J. Dubois, 51, of Theles Drive, Mobile, Ala., arrested today at 2:33 a.m. for no license plate, no insurance and failure to register for title. Summoned to appear in court July 11.

—Priscilla F. Renthrope, 27, of Solar Apartments, Morgan City, and Jeffery L. Williams, 21, of North Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, arrested Tuesday at 12:46 p.m. with Renthrope being charged on a warrant for distribution of cocaine, and Williams being charged with two warrants for distribution of cocaine. Booked into the parish jail with Renthrope bond set at $25,000 and Williams has no bond set.

—Gary I. Ledom, 49, and Tracie R. Hargrave, 41, both of South Road, Bayou Vista, arrested Tuesday at 4:33 p.m., with Ledom being charged with possession of Xanax, possession of Lortab and obstruction of justice, and Hargrave being charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and open alcoholic container. Ledom was booked into parish jail with no bond set, and Hargrave was issued a summons to court on July 11.

The Morgan City Police Department made two arrests overnight.

—Jonathan Perry, 27, of Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 3:09 p.m. on warrants for failure to use turn signal and failure to appear for arraignment.

—Dennis Mitchell, 23, of Morgan City, arrested Tuesday at 3:12 p.m. for warrants for failure to appear for arraignment in 16th Judicial District Court and resisting an officer by giving false information

Patterson Police made four arrests.

—Shawn Welsh, 31, of Gabriel Street, Patterson, arrested for disturbing the peace intoxicated, still incarcerated.

—Ashley Ducre, 21, Terrebonne Street, Morgan City, arrested for disturbing the peace by fighting on St. Michael Street, released on bond.

—Katrina Robin, 41, Lonely Oaks Street, Morgan City, arrested for disturbing the peace by fighting on St. Michael Street, released on bond.

—Douglas Dickerson, 48, Domino Drive, Patterson, arrested for public obscenity, released on bond.
