Daisy Mae Davis-Madise, 78, a resident and native of Morgan City, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 12:45 p.m., at her residence.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 415 Union St., Morgan City, from 8 a.m. readings at 12 p.m. until mass service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in the Morgan City Cemetery.
Daisy Mae, was well known as Nanny Daisy Mae and Tee Daisy, was born July 7, 1933 to Albertha Campbell and Leroy Davis in Morgan City. She met and married Eugene Madise. She was a member of Knights of Peter Claver, American Legion Post 496 and Elks Lodge.
She leaves to cherish her memories her eight children, Carolyn Davis Thomas, Mrs. Gerald (Mary) Watson and Joseph Peter (Olivia) Madise, all of Morgan City, Florence V. Madise and Mrs. Rodney (Debra) Myers, both of Berwick, Mrs. Lawrence (Ellen) Darnell and Mrs. Frank (Monica) Jones, both of Patterson, and Norbert Eugene Madise of Baldwin; her sister, Mrs. Andrew (Maxine) Tripplet of San Diego, California; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Daisy was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Madise, her parents, Albertha Campbell Davis, Leroy Davis and Walter “Papa” Winston; two sisters, Zelda Davis and Catherine Davis; her brother, Leroy “Pete” Davis; a grandson, Sherman Madise; and a granddaughter, Jerimica Watson; and other relatives.
